Extension privacy policy
This covers the PhotoToCartoon extensions for Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Firefox and Opera. It supplements our website privacy policy.
What the extension does
The PhotoToCartoon extension turns an image you select into cartoon or artistic styles. Installing and browsing the included examples is free. Generating a result requires a PhotoToCartoon account and sufficient credits.
Selected images and results
Your selected image is stored locally in this browser so it can survive closing the panel, signing in or buying credits. Selecting an image does not upload it to PhotoToCartoon. Clicking Generate sends your selected image and style/settings to PhotoToCartoon for processing. Results are returned to the extension and saved to your account history under the website privacy policy. Only select photos you have permission to use.
Account and credit information
With your explicit approval on our website, the extension connects to your existing account. It receives your account identifier, email address, credit/plan information and a separate authentication session. Authentication tokens are stored in the extension’s local browser storage and used to authenticate requests and refresh that session. Your website password is not sent to or stored by the extension. Credit balance and generation costs are displayed; card or bank details are not collected by the extension. Purchases take place on our website and its payment provider.
Image-site access and permissions
The image context menu uses only the image you explicitly select. Its source address and origin are handled to retrieve that image. When a site prevents direct import, the extension can ask for temporary access to that specific image origin; it releases this access after the import attempt. The extension does not monitor your browsing history or scan unrelated pages. Access to our website supports account connection, credit checks, uploads, generation and result download. Local storage retains your photo selection, style, current job and account connection.
Service providers and sharing
PhotoToCartoon uses Supabase for authentication and account records, Cloudflare R2 for image storage, and WaveSpeedAI for AI image processing. Your selected image and processing instructions are shared with the services needed to complete your request. Other website providers and their practices are described in the general privacy policy. We do not sell extension data or use it for advertising, data brokerage, creditworthiness or lending decisions. Human access is limited to authorized support, security investigations or legal obligations.
Retention and your controls
The extension retains your current selection/job and account connection rather than a separate local image-history library. Replacing or clearing a photo removes that local selection. Disconnecting clears local account tokens and extension state and attempts to revoke only the extension session. If offline, server-side revocation may not complete. Uninstalling removes the extension’s local data. Disconnecting or uninstalling does not delete account history already saved on PhotoToCartoon. Website image retention and account deletion are covered by the general privacy policy. For deletion requests contact privacy@phototocartoon.app.
Analytics, security and limited use
The packaged extension contains no third-party analytics, advertising code or remotely loaded executable code. Operational requests may appear in our server logs under the general privacy policy. Checkout and other website pages use the website’s own privacy practices; the dedicated account-connection document loads no third-party analytics scripts. Account, upload, generation and result requests to PhotoToCartoon use HTTPS in production. Retrieving a selected image uses its source site’s HTTP or HTTPS address. The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
